Who Is Quickspin?
Quickspin was founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2011 by Daniel Lindberg, Joachim Timmermans and Mats Westerlund. The studio holds a Malta Gaming Authority critical gaming supply licence and a UK Gambling Commission account. Playtech acquired Quickspin in 2016 and has owned it continuously since, though it continues to operate as a distinct studio brand within the wider Playtech group.
What Makes Quickspin Distinctive
Quickspin's founders have described starting the studio to make the games they wanted to play themselves, and the studio has built its reputation on polish and craftsmanship from a relatively small, close-knit team rather than high-volume output. Its catalogue leans on returning franchises — sequels and spin-offs of earlier hits — more than one single trademarked mechanic.
Notable Titles
Big Bad Wolf is Quickspin's best-known original, a fairytale-themed slot that has since been extended into Cash Collect and Link variants. Sticky Bandits built a Wild West outlaw theme into a long-running franchise, later extending into a live-dealer roulette spin-off under the same branding.
